People have abilities that are a double edged sword.  One of those is our ability to remember.  Some memories are sources of strength and inspiration, other memories reinforce doubt, limitations, and nightmares.</p>
<p><strong>Problem</strong><br />
While you can’t eliminate the negative experiences, your attention can focus on neutralizing their affect on your future. Even with the positive energy of desires, passion, and determination to succeed in goals and dreams the negative memories often act as time bombs.  They seem set to go off just when we are about to reach an important milestone in our life.</p>
<p><strong>Hint to an Answer</strong><br />
Here is an example revealing a clue on how to equalize the playing field.  If I drink a shot glass of strychnine it would turn me into a candidate for ghost status.  Yet, if I add a 55 gallon barrel of water to the strychnine the only thing it has the power to do is clean my teeth and cause a tingle.  This is the same way to minimize the impact of negative memories.</p>
<p>We cannot change genetics like ethnicity, gender, or the past. We each have the ability to create new experiences, thoughts and facts.  Our equivalent to adding the 55 gallons of water is to begin to make new memories that become the facts of the future. What does that look like?</p>
<p><strong>Solution</strong><br />
First we have to seed our mind with new knowledge.  We have the ability to program ourselves to expect a different outcome.  Literally a “brain washing” needs to take place.  This is where we change our thinking by what we begin to feed ourselves.  A life of learning anew begins.  </p>
<p>We allow ourselves to be influenced by the successful thinking.  By daily reading books, associating with successful people, changing what we say to ourselves, and finding a mentor/coach. These become tools to change our behaviors to create new habits. This creates new facts in your life.</p>
<p>As these activities become daily practices changes begin to take place in our thinking.  Here are a few things we can add to our activities:</p>
<ol>
<li>Organize our daily activity using a calendar</li>
<li>Create a list of task as a reminder</li>
<li>Track the most important task</li>
<li>Value relationships by investing attention</li>
<li>Forgive people who offended you</li>
<li>Separate yourself from toxic persons</li>
<li>Seek to control only yourself</li>
<li>Do selfless acts of charity</li>
</ol>
<p>By engaging ourselves in this manner we began a flood of new facts and experiences that neutralize our negative memories that sets you up to live a life of new facts that place us on a success track.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><A href="http://maxafication.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/wrong-direction.jpg"><IMG class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-374" title=wrong-direction alt="" src="http://maxafication.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/wrong-direction.jpg" width=425 height=282></A>I am often told to be tenacious, courageous, persistent, pushing, and dedicated to a direction. This post is about being aware of the signs when a change is needed and yet be dedicated to the right direction.</p>
<p>Here is my main thought around this subject. </p>

<p><STRONG>Be Patient or Move On?</STRONG><br />
This reminds me of a caterpillar that knows when it is time to spin a cocoon and transform as opposed to continue moving forward as a caterpillar. The journey takes faith, listening to yourself, and being aware of consistent confirmation that the time for change is present. Many times this confirmation speaks from different sources unrelated to one another. It may come from a book, a person, prayer, meditation, or just a slight, persistent off center feeling. </p>
<p>I can tell you this urge is not born out of laziness, excuses, or irresponsibility. It is like losing the taste for what you have been doing. Nothing else has changed. Realizing it is not a lack of appreciation, love, or passion for the essence of what you do and where you are going. It is the persistent nag of dissatisfaction you receive. It is really important during this time to not trust mood swings or make decisions out of an extreme emotion. You may even be wondering why you feel this way. Yet it comes with a peace.</p>
<p>This intuition, feeling, or hunch is not normally planned and not seem to be logical reasoning for a move at this time. This is why it is dangerous to move without taking time to test this feeling. Be sure to stay true to your hearts expression of your ultimate goal. This is where practicality and logic are often of no benefit. Sometimes you will fight the urge to move because you have nothing tangible to convince others or yourself that you are not losing a portion of your sanity.</p>
<p>I do believe this is God’s way of nudging you in a direction you would never have considered otherwise. Yet this change actually is the needed piece to get you to where you need to be next.</p>
<p><STRONG>How Do I Test this Feeling?</STRONG><br />
<UL><br />
<STRONG>Evaluate the variables that impact you</STRONG></UL></p>
<p>– Make sure you are not just depleted emotionally, physically, or mentally. When you are deficient in one of these your judgment can be impacted to make a wrong decision.<br />
Are you bored – Repetition is one of the ways we mature in a discipline. Do not make a change just because you are not feeling entertained at the time. </p>
<p><UL><br />
<STRONG>Is this a succession of many changes</STRONG></UL></p>
<p>– Be careful that you are really attempting to seek some satisfaction. While this may play a part, the urge I speak of seems to be dissatisfaction while at the same time it seems you should be satisfied. It is not a search.<br />
Is someone heavily influencing you – Are you attempting to please someone. While a person can be a confirmer of this urge you have to cease what you are doing and move on, they should not be the originators. This should come from within you.</p>
<p><UL><br />
<STRONG>Pride</STRONG></UL></p>
<p>– Am I changing because I want a different image to others? Again this is not an externally driven change. Others may actually feel you are just fine; especially if it benefits them for you to be so.</p>
<p><UL><br />
<STRONG>Finally don’t be rash</STRONG></UL></p>
<p>By this I mean begin to prepare for the change. At some point the pitch of the urge will be so loud that you cannot avoid the change. You have to be ready to take full advantage of the change. Remember Noah had never seen rain before he built the ark, yet he was ready when the floods came.<br />
It takes faith.</p>

Yet when you were younger time seemed to pass slowly? When you are young the events of life are many times simple and not as full of mental, emotional, and physical stresses. The more you fill the space of time and become familiar with demands on your time (this happens as you get older). The faster time seems to speed up. </p>
<p>This is really just an evolution of awareness. Much like when you purchase a car. You tend to be more aware of all the cars like yours. This is because your awareness has increased. So time is not speeding up. At least it is the same for a 7 year old and a 40 year old living at the same time. Our sensitivity to what can be done in time (between the need for sleep, interaction, food) is acute as we work in it. What makes time so sensitive is that we increasingly realize limitations of what might be accomplished.</p>
<p>Time is a space of life in which we carry out more or less life actions. Those actions can squander our time or invest it to see gratification or the promise of it.</p>
<p>Here are 10 things you can do to use your time in a way that says you are filling it with meaningful actions:<br />
<OL><br />
1. Take time to think about what you want out of life. Ask yourself, “How do I want to be known? How do I want to be remembered? What is important to me?” Work on one thing at a time. Check out this post “<A href="http://maxafication.net/changing-with-time?">Direction for Your Life</A>”.</p>
<p>2. Don’t be hindered by how much time it will take to accomplish your desire. Any worthwhile goal carries a value in moving forward even if it must be finished by someone else.</p>
<p>3. Leave off spending a lot of time in any relationships not essential to reaching your goal. Be polite, sincere, and nice. Just go on a “diet” with the time you spend with others.</p>
<p>4. Find someone who has done what you desire to do and study them. Study them from afar and up close. Correspond with them. Interview them if possible. Read what they have written. Just remember, prepare 20 minutes for every 5 minutes of their time. They can tell when you genuinely want to know by your preparation.</p>
<p>5. Create a plan of action. Step by step. Measure your progress by numbering the steps and setting a time target to accomplish the plan. You will sometimes have to adjust your time line, but do not change the steps unless you find the step to be a waste in reaching your goal.</p>
<p>6. Place reminders of your goals consistently around you. On your voicemail. In your car. On your refrigerator. Carry a letter to yourself in your pocket about what you decided to accomplish.</p>
<p>7. Interpret failures as the education you receive to learn how to adjust use of your time.</p>
<p>8. Your success is not dependent on anyone else. Others will play a part in your success, but you should ultimately never stop carrying responsibility. Work at it.</p>
<p>9. Meditate and day dream about your accomplishment to replenish your passion for what can be.</p>
<p>10. Do not forget to laugh. Laughter is a release and re-energizer when your emotions need a break. Take a laugh break!</OL></p>
